William B. Meyer has opened registration for its 14th Annual Meyer Fairfield Holiday 5K Run on December 16, 2012. Done in association with the Fairfield Police Benevolent Association Toy Drive, each participant donates a new, unwrapped toy for children aged 1-16. These gifts are distributed to children spending the Holidays in hospitals in Bridgeport Hospital, Yale – New Haven Hospital and the American Medical Response.
The Holiday Run is a celebrated tradition at William B. Meyer. Each year our employees represent a significant portion of all participants. Last year, registration totals set a new record, with a total of 300 finishers in the race, and over 400 gifts given. William B. Meyer employees turn out in force, and have comprised as much as ten percent of all participants. Tom Gillon, President of William B. Meyer, joined last year’s race. He calls Meyer’s sponsorship, “a pleasure, not a responsibility. It’s about giving back.” So far, William B. Meyer’s registration totals are set to exceed last year’s number.
