William B. Meyer, Inc. Selected to Participate in PBS’ Nightly Business Report Segment

William B. Meyer, Inc. was selected to participate in a three minute segment on PBS’s Nightly Business Report. The segment, Worker Migration Signals Economic Positivity, focused on a report issued by United Van Lines – for which William B. Meyer, Inc. is an agent – that discussed how moving trends reflect regional economic patterns.

The study collates all moving data in the United States, as well as international data from people leaving the United States. It shows that the Northeast, New York and New Jersey in particular, “[lead] the nation in worker migration.” The high numbers in move data are a positive sign for economists. People tend to move for economic reasons, and the pick-up in moving rates suggests greater job opportunities and an improvement in the housing market.

William B. Meyer was approached by United Van Lines and asked for permission to have one of its residential moves serve as the film location for this segment. The entirety of the clip was filmed on-location at a William B. Meyer move site. William B. Meyer was chosen to participate because of its reputation for professionalism and customer care. Bob Gallucci, Vice President of Sales for William B. Meyer, Inc. was honored to be included in the study. “William B. Meyer handles many relocations annually in and out of New York City. It’s always interesting to see how those moves factor into life-changing events for our clients.”
