In a heartwarming initiative just in time for the new school year, the Meyer Delaware team has ensured that teachers at William B. Keene Elementary School in Newark, DE, will be starting the year with upgraded task chairs. Thanks to Meyer’s commitment to reducing waste through their “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” program, the team repurposed like-new task chairs that would have otherwise been discarded. Over the course of the summer, these chairs were collected from multiple decommissioned work sites, inspected to ensure they met quality standards, meticulously stored, and eventually delivered to Keene Elementary.
This effort was led by Delaware General Manager Chad Forrest, who has three children attending the school. Chad was motivated after noticing during parent-teacher meetings in May that many of the school’s chairs were in poor condition. Through the team’s diligence and effort, Meyer was able to provide nearly all of Keene’s teachers with much-needed replacements. Kudos to the Meyer Delaware team for their community support and best wishes to the students for a successful school year!
