What began as a single dormitory project has evolved into a trusted partnership that’s transforming campus living experiences across multiple major universities. Meyer’s collaboration with University Loft – one of the nation’s leading providers of innovative, high-quality dormitory and campus furniture solutions – showcases the company’s deep expertise in the educational marketplace and their ability to deliver complex logistics solutions under the most demanding circumstances.
From First Project to Trusted Partnership
The partnership which began with a project at Yale University in 2021, continued in June 2024 with University of Connecticut’s Connecticut Hall—a brand-new, seven-floor dormitory featuring 600 suite-style rooms. Meyer’s team successfully installed complete dorm room furniture packages, including desks, dressers, and other essential pieces, setting the foundation for what would become an expanding relationship built on reliability and expertise.

The success at UConn quickly led to additional projects, including furnishing The Oaks on the Square’s seven buildings with specialized pieces like bar stools, nightstands, and tables—demonstrating Meyer’s versatility in handling diverse furniture requirements across different campus environments.
As word of Meyer’s capabilities spread, the partnership expanded to serve multiple prestigious institutions:
UMass Boston presented a unique challenge with lounge furniture installations across two buildings. Meyer’s team expertly furnished multiple lounges per floor across numerous levels, creating welcoming common spaces that enhance student life and community building.

Bryant University marked a milestone in the partnership’s growth. Over seven intensive days, Meyer’s specialized team managed the receipt, assembly, and installation of 10 truckloads of University Loft furniture across two brand-new dormitories. The project included beds, desks, couches, and other furnishings distributed across multiple floors, each featuring common areas and numerous bedrooms. Meyer’s expertise proved particularly valuable with items like mattresses that rapidly uncompress once unbanded—a detail that showcases their deep understanding of furniture logistics.

University of Hartford represents the partnership’s most complex undertaking to date: we will be furnishing 86 individual lounge rooms across six complexes in October, with four buildings per complex and multiple floors per building. This massive project will again require precise coordination and Meyer’s proven ability to manage large-scale installations while maintaining quality and timeline commitments.
Meeting Complex Challenges with Educational Expertise
Meyer’s success in this partnership stems from their deep understanding of the unique challenges facing educational institutions:
Campus Logistics Mastery: Navigating tractor-trailers through campus environments requires specialized knowledge and planning—expertise that Meyer has refined through years of educational sector experience.
Construction Timeline Flexibility: When construction delays inevitably occur, Meyer’s team demonstrates the agility to stage deliveries and return as needed, ensuring projects stay on track despite changing circumstances.
Compressed Timeline Excellence: Perhaps most critically, Meyer understands that educational timelines are non-negotiable. Whether it’s new construction or renovations, dormitories must be ready when students arrive. Meyer’s team has consistently delivered under these high-pressure situations, sometimes working as students are moving into adjacent areas.
The Value of Deep Educational Marketplace Expertise
This growing partnership with University Loft exemplifies how Meyer’s specialized knowledge of the educational sector creates tangible value for clients and partners alike. Their understanding of campus logistics, construction timelines, and student life requirements enables them to deliver solutions that generalist providers simply cannot match.
The results speak for themselves: seamless collaboration with construction teams and University Loft staff, consistently met timelines, and beautifully furnished spaces ready to welcome students. Most importantly, Meyer has built a trusted, ongoing partnership that continues to expand as both organizations recognize the value of working with a provider who truly understands the educational marketplace.
As universities across New England continue to invest in modernizing their residential facilities, Meyer’s partnership with University Loft positions both companies to deliver the specialized expertise and reliable execution that these critical projects demand.
“Working with Meyer has been exceptional,” says Jason Regis, Director of Sales from University Loft. “Brian and his crew are masters at rolling with the punches – whether that means stair carrying when elevators aren’t available or warehousing materials when construction delays happen. The trust we’ve built means I know the project is in excellent hands from start to finish. For any project in their wheelhouse, I’d recommend Meyer without hesitation.”
Mike Humen, Meyer’s Director of Business Development who manages the University Loft partnership, adds: “This collaboration perfectly demonstrates the value of our educational marketplace expertise. Every project presents unique challenges, from campus access constraints to compressed timelines, but our team’s deep understanding of the educational sector allows us to anticipate needs and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.”
It’s a partnership built on shared commitment to excellence and deep understanding of what it takes to create exceptional student living experiences.
