Safely Incubating Carillon’s New Incubator Equipment

As a government and military contractor, Carillon Technologies is focused on delivering cutting edge technology utilized in satellite systems and other optical communications applications. They were faced with a unique challenge recently after acquiring specialized lab equipment from a partner in Tucson, AZ. The company realized that due to the type of equipment they were purchasing they would need a specialized solution to manage the transport and secure storage of the items until the need for placement inside their New Haven, CT facility.

The sensitivity of the microscopes, lab hoods, and large optical tables created unique challenges in terms of transportation and the overall management of the project. The need for a single source solution was a key factor in Carillon Technologies’ decision to engage with Meyer’s Workplace Solutions team.

Meyer began the process by leveraging its partnership in the OMA (Office Moving Alliance) network to help arrange secure transportation of all the equipment. The OMA partnership provides its members with the ability to offer a singular platform for comprehensive relocation, storage and workplace solutions services throughout the nation. Upon the arrival of the shipment, Meyer crews offloaded the equipment and carefully prepared them for long term storage in a Meyer facility, where they would be safely stored for a year until Carillon was ready to take delivery. Once Carillon Technologies was ready to move the items into the new space, Meyer teams transported the equipment, off-loaded the trucks, uncrated each individual piece and placed everything in the correct location. The overarching goal was met with the project being completed on time which allowed for minimal disruption to the important work of the Carillon Technologies team.
